Couponing lingo

As you get started on your couponing research, both on this site and elsewhere, here is a guide to help you understand the lingo (in alphabetical order):

$/$$ – Dollars off wyb XX dollars

.50/1 – Fifty cents off one item

.50/2 – Fifty cents off 2 items

Blinkies – Coupon dispensed near product, in the store (usually from a “blinking” red box)

BOGO or B1G1 – “Buy 1, Get 1 Free”
Catalina – Coupon dispensed at the register at the time of purchase (on separate paper)

CRT – Cash Register Tape (coupon that prints on your receipt)
ECB – Extra Care Buck (CVS)

ESR – Easy Saver Rebate (Walgreens)

FAR – Free After Rebate

FLIP – Food Lion Internet Printable

IP – Internet Printable (a coupon you print off the internet)

IVC – Instant Value Coupon (Walgreens store coupon)

MFR – Manufacturer
MIR – Mail in Rebate

OOP – Out Of Pocket

Peelie – Coupon that you peel off the package

PG – Proctor & Gamble coupons

Regional – Coupon value only distributed to a certain area

RP – Red Plum Sunday insert coupons

RR – Register Rewards (these are the Catalinas that print out at Walgreens)

SCR- Single Check Rebate (rebate system at Rite Aid)
SS – Smartsource Sunday insert coupons

Tear Pad – Pad of refund forms or coupons found hanging from a store shelf or display

WSL – While Supply Lasts

WYB – When You Buy
