Hats off to General Mills – who recently announced a commitment to reduce sugar in cereals targeted to kids under 12. Through this initiative, some of the most popular kids’ cereals have been reformulated down single digit of sugar per serving, including Lucky Charms, Trix, Cocoa Puffs and Reese’s Puffs! General Mills had already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain and now they have finally put together the perfect balance of great taste and nutrition.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a total health nut, but maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is definitely a priority for me and my family. These ready-to-eat cereals deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children’s diets.
